RV Travel Industry Affected by Winter Weather Conditions

The RV industry has reported that this leg of harsh winter weather we have been experiencing has really put a toll on RV sales and RV travel.

Multiple snowfalls accumulating large amounts of snow, and temperatures below zero have shut down not only many major highways for days at a time, but RV businesses have had to close their doors as well. RV Manufacturers, such as Jayco and Entegra Coach in Indiana, have lost a total of one week of production due to these colder and wetter winter weather conditions.

Company spokesmen say they plan to make up as much as they can in late February and March, as long as they don't experience any more shut downs.  Owners of Thor Industries have reported that they too have lost production days and have seen a drop in sales for their second quarter.

With many major roads closed, RV customers don't have access to the RV dealers and showrooms, which leads to a drop in sales and slows down new RV production.  And according to Punxsutawny Phil, we've got 6 more weeks of winter left. Are you just as frustrated with the winter weather conditions? How have these past few winter storms affected your RV travel?
