    Popular Resolutions

With every New Year comes New Year's Resolutions. This is usually a time where someone sets a personal goal or a family comes together to set goals for the year. The problem with most people is that they have a hard time sticking to the resolutions once they have set them. Why is this? I think to begin to understand why people can't follow through on their resolutions we have to look at the types of resolutions people are making. One of the more popular New Year's Resolutions is to workout more, or get in shape. This is a very easy thing to do in theory, but if you aren't committed to truly bettering your quality of life, you will stop after a month just like a lot of people.

The key to New Year's Resolutions is to pick something you actually want to change, and then work hard to do it! Once you do it for a couple months, the change becomes very easy to implement into your daily life. Here are some of the top New Year's Resolutions we believe are realistic and attainable for you and your family this New Year.

    1. Travel More

This is an RV blog after all, so number one is travel more! Traveling is a great resolution to have because it can fall under so many categories. You can spend more time with family, exercise and become more cultured all because your resolution is to travel more. The other great part of traveling more is that it doesn't have to be a ton of trips, but more than you thought you could do in one year. If you don't usually go anywhere for the holidays, plan a trip to go see family! I think a lot of  times we can get caught up in traditions around the holidays, and people might say "We don't really go anywhere for the holidays, we usually just stay around here." Why! Go visit your family, get out of the house. I think you will see that going somewhere for the holidays can be fun. Maybe you plan a summer vacation that you never thought you would plan. If you usually go do tourist things, go see a national park or forest and camp in nature. Push your boundaries and you might learn a thing or two about yourself and those you love.

    2. Get Outside More

Another resolution that can lead to numerous other things is getting outside more. If you choose to get outside you also are more inclined to choose to exercise or take vacations. Being in the outdoors can make your perspective change in a lot of areas, so even if it is just going on walks every day or on weekends, plan to get out and do something more often. The life of a modern American is becoming more and more about what is on television or who we are texting on our phones, but that is not all life has to be! The outdoors offers trees, it offers activities and so much more that we don't even know because we don't take the time to just explore. So this year talk to those around you and plan walking dates, bike riding trips and maybe it will lead you to not only a healthier life, but healthier friendships as well.

    3. Volunteer More

One of the more under-rated resolutions to us is the act of volunteering more. Volunteering and just giving your time or money in general is a very difficult thing to do. With how busy most people are and the amount of time between work, kids and other activities, there just isn't really a great desire to go volunteer. But if you make this resolution and stick to it, you will get a lot more out of it than if you don't do it, because volunteering is one of the most powerful and simple things you can do. No matter where you live, there is always a need for volunteers. Trust us. So get out in your community and search for organizations or groups that might need your help! If nothing sparks your interests locally, you can look into national organizations as well that feature many opportunities throughout the country to get involved. Once you find your calling, you will find that volunteering becomes very simple once you do it a couple times!
