    Privacy in Your RV

Winter is fast approaching and it’s a great  time to think about what you will need to hunker down in your RV! This is a great time to start thinking and planning for a great trip next year or even this year still.

Before your next trip, perhaps you could try your hand at a Do-it yourself project for your camper.

    Great DIY Idea

One great idea is to create a privacy curtain for the front of your RV. This is an easy project and shouldn’t take more than a couple of days at most.  A privacy curtain is cheap to make, but it really depends on the type of material you choose.

I would recommend choosing a strong material such as a vinyl or something called suntex solar screen. This will serve a dual purpose: privacy and keep your rv cool during hot summer days when you’re not driving.

Here is a general method of creating a privacy curtain. However, doing a simple search on youtube or google will give you more advice if you run into any problems.

    • You really have two options for a mounting a screen: one that uses magnets to hold it up or one that uses velcro. If you have metal around the inside drivers and passengers seat then it is wise to use magnets. If not then velcro will work just fine.
    • When choosing a material I would pick something that will be durable and last awhile such as suntex solar screen, which is a durable and tough synthetic fabric made of PVC coated polyester.
    • Measure the size of your windows and make sure to get enough to fit the entire area, getting a little extra never hurt. Next cut out the curtain to match your measurements. It may be easier to do the side windows separate.
    • From here you will sew in your magnets, make sure to get enough magnets to actually hold the screen in place. Or if you are going the velcro route, then sew the velcro onto the vinyl. I would recommend using glue for the velcro on the interior.
    • Finally, make sure everything fits nice and snug.
