    Delicious Eats for Memorial Day Weekend

    Summer is Almost Here!

    Memorial Day Weekend is right around the corner and if you’re still trying to decide what you’ll be serving up for the family over the holiday, we’ve created a line up for you that’s sure to wow everyone. As the unofficial start of summer, what better way to start it off with some good ol’ American barbecue. These dishes are sure to delight your palate and get your summer off to the right start. 

    Coca Cola BBQ Ribs

    Cook time: 60 minutes

    Ingredients for Ribs: 

    -1 slab of ribs
    -1 teaspoon of chili powder
    -1 teaspoon of salt
    -1 teaspoon of pepper
    -1 teaspoon of garlic salt
    -1 cup of Coca Cola BBQ sauce


    -Clean your ribs by removing the membrane if it has not been already.
    -Cut slab in half. 
    -Put ribs in aluminum foil with your chili powder, salt, pepper, and garlic  salt.
    -Fold aluminum foil into a packet with ribs inside.
    -Place ribs on grill and braise for about 30 minutes.
    -Once cooked for 30 minutes, remove ribs from foil and place directly on grill.
    -Smother ribs with BBQ sauce and cook for another 30 min and remove  from grill. 

    Coca Cola BBQ Sauce

    Cook Time:10 minutes


    -1 cup ketchup
    -¼ cup Worcestershire Sauce
    -¼ cup brown sugar
    -½ teaspoon hot sauce
    -1 teaspoon garlic salt
    -1 cup of Coca Cola


    -Mix all ingredients together in a saucepan over medium to low heat.
    -Boil anywhere from 5-10 minutes until sauce thickens.
    -Remove from heat and spread over ribs.

    Bacon Wrapped Asparagus

     Cook Time: 15 minutes


    -Asparagus stalks
    -9-10 thick cut bacon slices cut in half
    -1 tablespoon of olive oil
    -¼ teaspoon garlic powder
    -½ teaspoon salt
    -½ teaspoon ground black pepper


    -Wrap asparagus with bacon and spread out on foil.
    -Mix olive oil and spices together then pour over asparagus and try to coat evenly. 
    -Cook on grill until asparagus is fully cooked, usually takes about 15 minutes or so.

    Southern Style Baked Beans

    Cook Time: 60 minutes


    -2(16 ounce) cans of navy beans
    -3 strips of diced bacon
    -1-2 cloves of minced garlic
    -½ of a medium sweet onion diced
    -1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
    -¼ cup of unsulphured molasses
    -¼ cup dark brown sugar
    -¼ cup ketchup
    -1 teaspoon yellow mustard


    -Put navy beans in a medium pot.
    -In a skillet, put diced bacon, garlic, onion and cook until bacon becomes crisp and onion tenders. Remove from heat when finished and add to beans.
    -Combine Worcestershire sauce, molasses, mustard, ketchup and brown sugar. Stir until evenly mixed.
    -You can either bake the beans in the oven at 325 degrees or place on the grill in foil.
